Wayne Rooney’s drink drive girl admitted she would have spent the night with the married footballer if he hadn’t been arrested.
Everton striker Wayne was arrested at the wheel of Laura Simpson’s black VW Beetle after the pair got a taxi to her friends house where the single mum had left her car.
She told Mail Online: “Was I going to spend the night with him? Yes, perhaps, we hadn’t really discussed it. I’m not a marriage wrecker it was all playful fun and I’d had loads to drink. We had a kiss, a hug, some banter, harmless fun. When the bar was closing, one of Wayne’s pals came up to me and said ‘You know Wayne likes the look of you and wants to go somewhere with you’.
After the pair got a taxi at 1.15am they were dropped off at a pal’s house but decided to just drive on.
She added: “We didn’t go into the house but decided to drive off into the night, we had no idea where we were going. I felt safe with Wayne, his driving was OK. We were on the road for 10-15 minutes and then we thought we saw flashing police lights so Wayne slowed down, he wasn’t speeding, and stopped at the side of the road.
“There were two officers, I think and Wayne looked really worried. He turned and said to me ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, you’ll be OK, I’m getting out of here.'”
Earlier Laura told MailOnline: “He kept admiring my clingy top and asking what size they were, saying “Are they real?”
She told The Sun: “I didn’t know what to make of it, it all happened so fast. It was a whirlwind. I don’t know if it’s because I was that drunk but he didn’t seem that drunk to me.”
It comes as a ‘livid’ Coleen has reportedly flown back to the UK after Wayne was charged with drink driving.
The mum-of-three, who is four months pregnant, had been on holiday in Spain with the pair’s three sons, Kai, seven, Klay, four, and one-year- old Kit, when she learned of his late-night arrest.
Coleen, who flew to Mallorca last weekend, is said to be “livid and embarrassed” by the incident.
The 31-year-old’s last social media post came four days ago when she shared a sweet family shot with her sons on their trip.
“Dinner with my boys,” she captioned it.
Coleen was also snapped showing off her growing baby bump as she relaxed poolside.
Mirror Sport revealed her husband was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning and charged for drink driving after being stopped driving a VW Beetle.
Rooney, 31, was pulled over by police in the black vehicle at 2am on Friday morning in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
He was taken to a police station in Middlewich where he was quizzed by officers and later charged.
Rooney was seen at Italian restaurant Piccolino in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, at about 4pm, after training with Everton earlier in the day.
Later he was seen at The Bubble Room bar nearby with pals, believed to be footballer Wes Brown, who is leaving England for India, and the brother of Phil Bardsley.
A fellow customer, Shropshire cricketer Jack McIver, posted a picture of himself with Rooney at the venue on social media at 10pm.
Rooney and his pals then moved on to cocktail bar Symposium in nearby Wilmslow.
EVERTON STRIKER WAYNE ROONEY CHARGED WITH DRINK-DRIVING
Simpson says the pair got a taxi from the bar to pick up her car.
After being pulled over, Rooney was taken to a local police station where he was quizzed by officers.
At around 1.30pm Cheshire Police announced they had charged Rooney with drink-driving.
Laura said the police drove her car to a friend’s house and she didn’t see Rooney again.
On Friday night Laura’s black convertible Beetle was parked outside her home before she was seen leaving her house to move it further down the road.
The brunette then ran back inside her home as a pal offered her a jacket to cover her head.
Rooney was picked up by agent Paul Stretford from the Middlewich Custody Suite, Cheshire, in a black Range Rover on Friday, having spent several hours in custody.
He was released on bail and is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on September 18 – the day after his first return to Old Trafford since his Manchester United departure.
The Everton striker lives a few miles away in a £6million home in Prestbury, where he, wife Coleen and his children have been for the last 12 years.
Mirror Celebs has contacted a representative for Wayne and Coleen for comment.
